Literary ladies brunch

In September HGA held a Literary Ladies Lunch at the picturesque King’s Grant Country Retreat and Restaurant in Ixopo. The drawcard for the event was acclaimed South African novelist and actor, John Van Der Ruit, who is best known for his best-seller, Spud. Van Der Ruit had the audience spell-bound as he recounted tales from his youth and a few near-death experiences he has encountered later in life. The attendees were also treated to a sumptuous meal produced by King’s Grant which was a gastronomic experience of note!

HGA used the platform to present the work we are doing with the hope that it might generate more financial support from local businesses in our district and we are pleased to note that some have already made contributions, namely, AgriHygiene and Salt Spring Farming.
